Songwon University ace Chung Hyun-soo (22), who was nominated by the Lotte Giants in the second round, expressed his gratitude for his senior Lee Dae-ho and affection for his hometown team Lotte. Jung Hyun-soo was selected by Lotte as the 13th overall in the second round of the '2024 KBO Rookie Draft' held at the Grand Ballroom of the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul on the 14th. Jung Hyun-soo, who played in Songwon University after going through Busan High School, said, "I'm returning to my hometown after four years of leaving my hometown. I feel something new. He was a batter when he was in Busan High School, but he was disappointed because he was not nominated as a professional player. "I used to go to Sajik Stadium often when I was young," said Jung Hyun-soo, "I still remember using orange sticks at Sajik Stadium as a child. I started playing baseball after seeing Lee Dae-ho. "I can't wait to take the mound at Sajik Stadium where Lee Dae-ho played," he said, expressing his affection for Lotte. 

Chung Hyun-soo recently appeared on the TV baseball entertainment program 'The Strongest Baseball' and gained popularity. He also got a chance to play baseball with Lee Dae-ho, who had been coveted since childhood in the strongest baseball league. "When I was young, I didn't have a chance to meet him in person because he was such a senior," said Jung Hyun-soo, "I met him for the first time while filming the strongest baseball this year, and his aura was so cool." It was a fascinating experience," he said with a smile. 

Jung Hyun-soo, who received a lot of advice from Lee Dae-ho, said, "He told me a lot about his mindset and attitude toward baseball in the future. He said that you have to do it properly from the time you play catch and that each attitude and behavior toward baseball is really important. They give me a lot of advice even after the camera is turned off. He advised me that this is not the end, but that it is important to do well in the professional league," he said of Lee Dae-ho's advice.
 
Jung Hyun-soo, who picked Kim Won-joong as the pitcher he wants to meet the most in Lotte, said, "Kim Won-joong graduated from Dongseong High School in Gwangju and worked out with a professor at our school. I've heard a lot of stories and I've seen him play as a closer on TV, and I really want to look like him and he's so cool," he said, looking forward to meeting Kim Won-joong. 

Jung Hyun-soo, who said he wanted to meet his fans on the mound at Sajik Stadium, said, "I still can't believe I've been nominated for Lotte. be dumbfounded. It means a lot to me to be on the mound for my hometown team. If you go to Sajik Stadium, there will be a lot of fans. I've dreamed of such a scene since I was young, so I think I'll have more concentration. "I want to work hard and become a good pitcher for the Lotte Giants," he said, vowing to make his first team debut.
